Opened in September 2008, Hotel Du Golf St-Omer sits in a natural park about 45 minutes south of Calais, making it a handy short-break option in Northern France. The big pull is the on-site Aa Saint-Omer Golf Club, a championship layout that has hosted multiple European Tour events. If your group likes a proper test without travelling deep into France, it ticks a lot of boxes.

The hotel overlooks the course, so you're never far from the first tee and the clubhouse. It's a practical base for a long weekend or a midweek dash, particularly for UK golfers driving over via Calais. The setting feels calm and green, with fairways stretching out in front of you, but you're still close enough to Saint-Omer for a change of scene after golf.

If you're travelling as a society, the combination of straightforward accommodation and a recognised championship venue makes planning simple, and it's easy to keep the focus where it should be, on golf.

Who is this for?
Golfers or groups seeking a hassle-free French golf break within easy reach of Calais, combining a championship course with comfortable, no-nonsense accommodation.

Who is it best for?
UK-based golfers looking for a quick cross-Channel escape, societies wanting a European Tour venue without long travel times and anyone who values convenience, quality golf and a scenic parkland setting over luxury resort facilities.

Accommodation at Hotel Du Golf

The modern hotel sits beside the ninth hole and offers 54 well-appointed rooms geared towards golf breaks. Many overlook the course, which is exactly what you want when you're here to play, eat and do it all again the next day.

Rooms are contemporary and practical rather than flashy, with the essentials covered for a comfortable stay after 18 holes. If you're travelling as a group, the layout works well for twin sharing, and there's enough space to store golf gear without feeling cramped. After a round, it's an easy walk back to your room, so you can clean up and head down for food and a drink without organising taxis or transfers.

The hotel's position within the natural park means you're surrounded by greenery, with quiet spots to relax between rounds. It's a peaceful setting, well away from main roads and urban noise, yet still close enough to the town of Saint-Omer for evening meals or a wander around the historic centre if you fancy a change of scene.

For groups and societies, the hotel can arrange private dining, and there's plenty of space in the communal areas for evening gatherings. The staff are used to hosting golfers and understand the rhythm of a golf break, from early starts to late finishes.

Location is a major advantage. From Calais, you can be on site quickly, which helps you squeeze more golf into a short trip. Drive off the ferry or out of the tunnel and you can often be checked in with time to spare for an afternoon round. That ease of access makes St-Omer a sensible pick for mixed groups where not everyone wants a long drive after the ferry or tunnel.

If you're looking to stretch the budget, it's worth considering midweek dates, as weekend supplements can apply. For societies and corporate groups, this venue suits golfers who prioritise convenience, a strong course and good-value comfort over resort-style facilities. The hotel also works well as a base for exploring other courses in the region, with several quality layouts within a short drive.

Bar service slow and the same goes for the restaurant and rather pricey : meal euro 50 and single whisky euro 10! Hotel 15 km from St Omer centre but taxi price around euro 55 and hotel staff seem young, inexperienced and reluctantly helpful. Am in no hurry to go back there.

Hotel is excellent, rooms very clean and comfortable. Restaurant choice is poor and does not cater for the golfer. We were playing golf and returned stewartby 21.45, being June it was still light, only to be told the restaurant is closed and there's no room service, couldn't even buy snacks and was offered a bowl of nuts. The golf club house has a decent lunch time menu, but closes by tea time, why!! There's still lots of golfers on the course!! The golf shop is very expensive,€80 for a shirt!!. Shame really, great hotel and course but doesn't really cater for its clientele were obviously focused on the big spending corporate events that were going on.

Everyone in our group said the hotel was great, our only issue was the slow service in the restaurant. Other than that it was most enjoyable.

Good three star hotel right in the golf course. Would recommend for an overnight stay but on reflection a three stay was too much. Expensive and limited restaurant. Rooms very nice.
