Designed by eight-time European Tour Order of Merit winner and 2010 Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie, The Montgomerie Marrakech is one of the headline courses in Marrakech Golf City. It sits just 4km from Marrakech Menara Airport, so it's an easy first (or last) round on a long weekend, with the Atlas Mountains and the Koutoubia providing a proper Marrakech backdrop.
This is not a brute-force layout. You'll get plenty of room from the tee on several holes, but it's a second-shot course at heart, with bunkering that asks you to pick your angles and greens that can make a straightforward putt feel anything but. Monty's routed holes past olive trees and around water features that come into play on the approach, so if you're the type who'd rather plot your way round than simply hit driver everywhere, you'll enjoy what he's done here.
If you're staying in town, you can pair a morning tee time with an afternoon in the souks or an evening around the medina, without turning the day into a long transfer mission. It's a practical choice, but it still feels open and scenic once you're out on the course.
Who is this for? Golfers who want a quality, convenient Marrakech round with strong views and a strategic test.
Who is it best for? Mid-handicappers and better who enjoy placement golf, plus groups building a Marrakech golf break around easy logistics.

The Montgomerie Marrakech stretches across 63 acres of land with the Altas mountins as its breathtaking backdrop. The course winds its way through the impressive residential areas of Marrakech Golf City and amounts to just under 6,900 yards. Designed to be playable for all with wide playing areas, but still challenging, with undulating greens defended by numerous run-off areas, the course is one which can provide enjoyment to all standards of golfers depending on which tees you choose to play from. The site also features extensive practice facilities and a state-of-the-art clubhouse facing the 18th green. No stone has been left unturned in the creation of The Montgomerie Marrakech, making the course a must visit on your golf holiday to Morocco.

We did enjoy the course overall. However, the golf club had very few people playing and there were not many staff on site. For example we could not get into the changing rooms but no problem with drinks post playing. One problem was a “pack of six wild dogs” that we encountered on the eighth hole. They did follow us, barking and generally worrying/scaring us. Post playing I did mention this to the green/course staff but they were somewhat disinterested although there were some language difficulties.

Typical Monty course. Thoroughly enjoyable and tests all the golfing skills. Greens were perfect

Almost ‘millionaires golf’ on a Saturday morning ....... quiet, relaxed and enjoyable round. A very ‘playable’ course, ideal holiday golf.

Not a bad word to say, a tough course but great fun and interesting. Staff were friendly and restaurant specialises in delicious burgers. Bunkers aren't great but that's just the way in Morocco I think.

Harder course than the Tony Jacklin one but still in great condition - greens had much more slopes and hence speed was faster.

Quite a boring layout. Nothing outstanding in terms of the design. Would be unlikely to be keen to play again. The round was marred by heavy rain!! Check in at pro shop & with caddy master good.
