Right, if you want a Marbella base that works for golf first and everything else second, Amare ticks a lot of boxes. You've got modern rooms, a proper spa set-up for recovery and the beach on your doorstep. It's around 40 minutes from Málaga Airport, and you can pair the hotel with rounds across Marbella's Golf Valley, including courses like Aloha and Los Naranjos, without turning every day into a long transfer.

It's recommended for adults, so you tend to get a calmer vibe around the pool and spa, which is no bad thing after 18 holes in the Andalusian heat. Rooms are built for function as much as style, with proper storage for clubs and kit, air conditioning that does the job and balconies that frame the kind of sea views you'll want after a long day on the course.

Where Amare really earns its place on a golf itinerary is recovery. The SPA by Germaine de Capuccini has a full hydrotherapy circuit with heated pool, hydromassage beds, sauna, steam room and sensation showers, plus a treatment menu that's well suited to golfers who finish the day with tight shoulders and a stiff lower back. Add a Technogym-equipped gym, a beachfront pool area and a rooftop bar for sunset debriefs, and you've got a Marbella base that balances serious golf with proper downtime. You're also close enough to stroll into the Old Town for dinner and a few post-round drinks, which matters when you want more than just the hotel bar.

Who is this for?

Golf groups and couples looking for a beachfront Marbella base with proper spa and recovery facilities, modern rooms and walking access to the town's dining and nightlife.

Who is it best for?

Golfers who want to combine multiple rounds across the Costa del Sol's top courses with evenings in central Marbella, plus the option to properly recover between rounds rather than just collapse into bed.

Accommodation at Amare Marbella Beach Hotel

Golf groups receive the same attentive service that defines the Amare experience, with 236 rooms and suites designed to handle the practical demands of a golf trip without sacrificing comfort. Every room comes fitted with air conditioning, direct-dial telephone, satellite television, internet connection and mini-bar, plus the kind of storage space that actually accommodates a full golf bag, spare shoes and wet-weather gear without turning the room into an obstacle course.

The accommodation itself is contemporary rather than fussy, with clean lines, neutral tones and floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the Mediterranean properly. Suites add extra living space for groups who want a base for evening debriefs, while standard rooms keep things simple and functional. What matters most is that everything works: the air conditioning cools the room after a hot round, the showers have proper pressure and the beds are firm enough to support a golfer's back without feeling like you're sleeping on the fairway.

Standard rooms provide the essentials with sea or garden views, king or twin bed configurations and enough floor space to unpack properly. Superior rooms step up the view and add a touch more square footage, while Junior Suites introduce a separate seating area, ideal for small groups or couples who want room to spread out. The full Suites deliver separate bedroom and living spaces, multiple bathrooms and the kind of terrace where you can sit with a coffee and actually plan the day's golf without feeling cramped.

Mare Nostrum handles breakfast with a buffet that covers the bases: fresh fruit, pastries, hot dishes and a made-to-order station turning out omelettes and pancakes. In the evening, the same space shifts to Mediterranean plates served on a terrace with direct sea views, which works whether you're fuelling up for an early tee time or winding down after 36 holes.

Amare Beach Restaurant sits right on the sand, serving international and Mediterranean menus with the sound of waves doing most of the work. It's the go-to for groups who want to stay on property but still feel like they're making the most of the beachfront location.

Hayaca brings something different to the table, a pop-up by Michelin-starred chef Mauricio Giovanini focused on Latin American cuisine. Expect beef empanadas, ceviche and grilled meats with the kind of bold flavours that cut through a long day on the course. It's a limited-time offering, so check availability when booking.

The Belvue Rooftop Bar is where most evenings end up, sunset cocktails and light Spanish plates, local cheeses, hams and small bites, served with views that stretch across the Mediterranean. It's the kind of spot that turns a standard post-round drink into something worth lingering over.

The SPA by Germaine de Capuccini is the standout, a full hydrotherapy circuit built around a heated pool, hydromassage beds, sauna, steam room and sensation showers. The treatment menu runs from sports massages aimed at tight shoulders and lower backs to facials, all using Germaine de Capuccini products, and the atmosphere is designed to promote actual relaxation rather than just ticking a spa visit off the list. For golfers dealing with sore legs or the general wear of walking multiple courses in a week, this is where the real recovery happens.

The gym is equipped with Technogym machines, enough variety to maintain a routine without needing to leave the property. Outdoors, the swimming pool and private beach area offer sun loungers and cabanas, the kind of passive recovery that involves nothing more strenuous than deciding whether to order another drink.

The rooms were fine for our group and the breakfasts excellent. A big choice and eggs cooked freshly any way we wanted them. A central hotel which is close to the restarants in the old town. All staff were very helpful. Our only criticism was that the bar prices were pretty steep!
