True Blue opened alongside a barrage of hype, and has, to its credit, managed to vindicate all the attention since its inauguration. Golf Digest has recently ranked True Blue as the number one course in Myrtle Beach and amongst the best courses in South Carolina.

The fairways are enormous, and True Blue is certainly maintained as well as any other course in the local region. The plot of land was formerly a rice plantation, but the extraordinary vision of Mike Stranz has been realised with spectacular results. Elements of rugged links golf are combined magnificently with the towering pines and expanses of water to create a course to rival the finest that Myrtle Beach has to offer.
Despite only opening in 1999, True Blue has knitted beautifully, and is a popular choice for a golf holiday in Myrtle Beach.

Worst condition of any course we played, the greens were poor and had patches on a lot of them and covereing a lot of each green, but the worst by far were the bunkers! they were dangerous to anyone NOT playing the shot! like concrete under the fine top layer so a lot of knifed shots went shooting over the greens towards the others playing the holes, so bad we gave a free drop to anyone landing in them. We have played it in the past lots of times alongside it's sister Caledoni, and it needs to be sorted.
