St Andrews sits at the heart of Scottish golf and the Kithmore Hotel puts you right in the middle of it. The world-famous St Andrews Old Course is a short walk away, so you can soak up the atmosphere in town, head out for your round and be back in the bars and restaurants without worrying about taxis.
It's also a smart base for exploring further afield. The three outstanding courses at Gleneagles and the coastal challenge at Kingsbarns are within easy reach, which makes this a strong option if you're building a multi-course golf tour in St Andrews.
The hotel keeps things comfortably straightforward. Expect refurbished en-suite rooms, an on-site restaurant and bar, and a relaxed clubhouse-style feel that works well for couples, friends and society groups who plan to spend their days on the links and their evenings enjoying St Andrews.

The Kithmore offers 44 comfortable en-suite bedrooms, all recently refurbished. Room types range from cosy doubles to larger suites, so it works just as well for couples as it does for full society groups. In-room basics include central heating, a TV and tea and coffee facilities. Some rooms also include a PC with internet access, handy for checking tee times and travel details between rounds.
Downstairs, the restaurant and bar have a relaxed, modern feel with a friendly clubhouse edge, ideal if you want somewhere easy for a bite and a catch-up after golf. Breakfast is served à la carte and leans into Scottish favourites, while the daytime and evening menus cover lighter options alongside comforting classics and seasonal dishes made with local produce. Whether you're grabbing something quick between rounds or sitting down as a group, it's an uncomplicated set-up that suits a golf trip.
The bar features local beers, a considered wine list and a strong selection of Scottish whiskies, exactly what you want after a day on the links. When the weather plays ball, the terrace is a cracking spot for a dram and a post-round debrief with your playing partners.
If you do take a break from the links, St Andrews Castle and the Aquarium are both close by, and the town centre location makes it easy to head out and enjoy the local atmosphere.

Walk up to room no lift. Small room typical of older style hotel. Nice bathroom. Breakfast was average.

Our golf society stayed at the Ardgowan hotel when we visited St Andrews for our 10 year anniversary tour. Being right in the centre of town means that all the bars and restaurants are within walking distance and it's only a 2 minute walk to the first tee of the Old course. The rooms were very comfortable, the breakfast was excellent and the staff were efficient, helping us to book taxis to the courses. Would highly recommend this hotel for a base while on a St Andrews golf tour.
