The Manor Course, as it is now known, has seen a vast transformation in recent years when management wisely turned to Ross McMurray of European Golf Design, a highly regarded architect who was also commissioned to oversee improvements at Woburn, and the 2010 Ryder Cup venue in Wales, the Celtic Manor Resort.
The resultant 6,547 yards Championship Course, which is now regarded as one of the Norfolk's best courses, and have already hosted the PGA Europro players events. The challenge at the 7th, the Manor's signature hole, is to avoid the water that skirts the fairway.
The excellent putting surfaces are constructed in line with USGA principles, ensuring superb condition and adding to the terrific outcome. The golf course is ably assisted by Sprowston Manor's fantastic new practice facility, complete with a 26-bay floodlit range, which also incorporates the latest GASP tuition technology and the expertise of no less than 3 PGA professionals, all reputed for their superb tuition.

The hotel rooms were great very spacious clean comfortable. Plenty of toiletries. The golf course was great. Really enjoyed playing it. Pool area well maintained and clean. Enjoyed using it. The restraunt let it down. Very inexperienced young staff who need training. They did their best. Had to wait far too long for food. 45 mins for starter but 4th person didn't get her for another 15 mins. So had to eat it on her own. Then another hour wait for main. Breakfast OK but the scrambled egg was like rubber.!! They need to sort this out. We don't recommend it. Your golf travel organised everything well as usual. No prob with that at all... Just the restraunt..

Hotel is a tired Marriott looking worn and now needs attention. Table d’Hote choices were poor and we moved onto A la Carte which was average and lacked great choice as did the very limited wine list. Staff were very good. Wouldn’t rush back. It all lacked sparkle.

The room was actually very nice. It was large and well equipped with a spacious bathroom. Rated 1 star because of a mechanical noise which was at it's worse near the headboard of the bed. It was not our extractor fan/heating system/fridge. My family, who were staying, checked out and confirmed the noise existed (their room was the same without noise). It was a mechanical noise which in spite of us complaining was not dealt with in any way. Staff said that the hotel was old and had just changed hands and that a refurbishment was due in the next couple of years!! Do not allow yourself to be placed in room 107. You will not sleep!!!

Very slow on Sunday, however the helpful Pro in the shop helped us get an earlier tee time on Monday so round two was much quicker.

the course was a real gem! I have rated it as hard purely as the greens were lightening fast and I could not get the rub of them! tee boxes were in good condition, fairways were nice, but obviously dry. you could easily pick your way around with an iron all day, but there some good long holes for the driver. only 1 x par 3 of around 150yrd, the rest were all over 185yds long.

Food in the clubhouse was very poor quality and the selection poor. Both dining area and toilets in the clubhouse were dirty, and the changing rooms and passages needed a good clean. Both toilets were out of action with only the disabled toilet available for everyone it was dirty. Totally different to our last visit albeit some years ago.

A very pleasant away day round of golf. A very forgiving course which would suit beginner/intermediate players.

Really enjoyed the course that was ideal for a mid to high handicapper. Unfortunately on the Sunday [and we're not told] we were behind a junior competition that resulted in the first 9 holes taking two and three quarter hours! Not helped by the lack of course etiquette of the accompanying adults, marking cards on greens. parking up trolleys on the front. BUT Monday morning was wonderful and toatl package was tremendous value.
