Golf De Nampont Saint-Martin

Tucked into the Picardy countryside with a 15th-century château watching over the fairways, Nampont St Martin is a lovely change of pace. It's just a short drive from Le Touquet but feels properly rural, ideal if your group fancies quiet evenings, big skies and golf that doesn't try to beat you up for 18 holes.

The Domaine has roots dating back to 858, although the golf story starts much later. In 1976, golfer and nature lover François-Xavier Podvin bought the château and began shaping two courses that sit comfortably in the estate's natural layout. Expect tree-lined holes, open meadowland and gently rolling ground that keeps you thinking from the tee.

This is more about placement than power. If you keep it in play you'll give yourself plenty of chances, and if you're chasing a score you'll still find holes where a bold line can pay off. It's the sort of venue that suits couples and smaller groups who want two rounds on site, then the option of heading into Le Touquet for dinner, a drink or an extra hit of links golf.

Who is this for?

Golfers who want a quiet French estate stay with two rounds on site, with Le Touquet close enough for a livelier evening when you fancy it.

Who is it best for?

Couples and small groups who enjoy strategic parkland-style golf, mixed-ability trips that value scenery and pace of play and anyone building a Le Touquet break with a calmer base.

Very different course to the usual Le Touquet, Hardelot, St. Omer etc. OK when we were there but could be wet at certain times of year. We enjoyed it and mostly played to our handicaps. (One player was 6 under !)

Very pretty with swans and cygnets and a lot of water! We enjoyed the course as a change from the seaside courses, which seemed to have very few people playing on it.
