The Jubilee Course, St Andrews

Excellent See all 1 review

Closest to the West Sands, The Jubilee is arguably the toughest test at St Andrews, which is saying something when the Old Course is next door. What sets it apart is the relentless driving challenge. You're standing on elevated tees, often into the wind, with fairways that ask for both length and accuracy. Miss your line and you'll be hunting for your ball in thick rough or worse.

The ninth hole is the one most people remember. It often asks for a long iron or hybrid into a rock-hard green, usually straight into whatever weather is rolling in off the coast. Miss it in the wrong place and the recovery is anything but straightforward.

Down the stretch, you're facing a succession of tough par fours where holding your score together is as hard as it gets. Fairways feel tighter, the breeze tends to pick up and the greens are not interested in giving you cheap pars.

If you're planning a St Andrews golf trip, The Jubilee is ideal when you want a championship links test without relying on the Old Course ballot. Include The Jubilee on your next Golf Break and we'll help you build a tee time plan around your dates and group size.

Jubilee Course, St Andrews

Golf tour visitors to St Andrews will begin tackling The Jubilee adjacent to The New Course's first tee, and will also benefit from the splendid New Clubhouse, but the beauty of The Jubilee is that its character is so different to its neighbours. The narrow fairways run closest to the shoreline, and when the wind blows, are part of a stern test.
