1 Night, 2 Rounds
- 1 Night Bed and Breakfast at Draycote Hotel & Whitefields Golf Course
- 2 Rounds at Whitefields Golf Course
1 Night, 2 Rounds
Tucked into the heart of the Warwickshire countryside with Draycote Water as its backdrop, the Draycote Hotel sits in one of those rare spots where you get proper peace and quiet without sacrificing accessibility. Most of the UK can reach it comfortably, which matters when you're organising a society trip or weekend away and half the group is coming from different corners of the country.
Whitefields Golf Course is the main draw here, a championship parkland layout that uses the natural contours and mature trees to create a test that works for mid-handicappers and single-figure players alike. It's not overly long by modern standards, but the design rewards course management over brute force. The routing flows well, the conditioning is consistent, and you'll find yourself thinking about club selection more than you might expect on a parkland course.
The hotel itself strikes a good balance between contemporary comfort and that relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere you want after 36 holes. It's well set up for golfers, with 49 en-suite rooms that are genuinely spacious, plus all the practical touches like satellite TV and reliable Wi-Fi. The Three Cooks restaurant is worth mentioning because it actually does something interesting, blending English, European and Asian influences in a way that reflects the chefs' backgrounds rather than just ticking boxes on a menu.
Who is this for?
Golfers or groups looking for a straightforward, quality parkland break in the Midlands, with easy access from most UK regions and a hotel that handles the basics very well.
Who is it best for?
Societies, small groups and couples who want a relaxed base with solid golf on the doorstep, plus anyone organising a weekend away where half the appeal is switching off without disappearing to the middle of nowhere.

One of the main benefits at Whitefields is the excellent natural drainage, which ensures that the course can remain open throughout the year, and also that the putting surfaces will roll true. The main focal point is the Draycote Water reservoir, part of the neighbouring Country Park.
The 13th, 15th and 16th holes are the favourites of many visitors. The 13thi s is a challenging par 4 which curves around Draycote Water. The 16th contains an island green on a downhill par 3. The 15th, named ‘Temptation, where you can try to drive the green or lay up. There are many interesting and memorable holes. Whitefields also boasts an 15-bay driving range, with all bays fully equipped with Toptracer for good practice and a lot of fun. There are also excellent facilities for practising your short game and putting.

The Draycote Hotel has been designed with light, open spaces and a contemporary feel that stops short of feeling clinical or corporate. The 49 en-suite guest rooms are genuinely spacious, not the sort where you're shuffling sideways past the bed, and they come with the amenities that matter: satellite television, Wi-Fi and enough room to spread out after a day on the course. Rooms are well appointed and designed for comfort rather than show, with en-suite bathrooms that are modern and functional. The overall feel is relaxed and contemporary without tipping into bland or overly minimalist.
Service is attentive without being overbearing, the sort where staff know what golfers need, whether that's an early breakfast or just being left alone with a pint after 36 holes. The Three Cooks restaurant is the standout dining option, an innovative concept that celebrates the English, European and Asian heritage of the chefs. The food is thoughtful, well executed and varied enough to keep a group happy over multiple nights.
The hotel bar and Fairways Bar both carry Sky and BT Sport on large flat-screen televisions, so you're covered for any tournament coverage, match action or just background sport while you're working through the day's round. There's also a permanent giant screen outside the bar that extends to the driving range, complete with its own bar and menu service. Food and drinks can be delivered to you on the range, which is a genuinely useful touch if you're the sort who likes to hit balls while keeping an eye on the golf.
It's a hotel that understands what golfers want: a comfortable base, good food, a decent bar and the sort of atmosphere where you can turn up in your golf gear without feeling out of place. The attentive service and superb facilities at the Draycote make it an excellent choice for your golf break in the West Midlands.

We were given to understand that there has been a recent change of ownership. It was evident that the new management were doing everything possible to ensure we enjoyed our stay, and they succeeded. The rooms were clean, the staff very friendly, and the food was excellent I would recommend anyone to stay.

Value for money, clean and had everything we needed. Menu choice a bit basic and a mattress topper on a cheap mattress is still a cheap mattress and not a good night's sleep.

We arrived late morning and were pleased to find we could buy a round of drinks before playing a round of golf. The staff were very helpful in recommending a nearby Indian restaurant and arranging taxis for our party of 11. There was a serve-yourself full English breakfast the following morning.

For the amount of rain we had received building up to the trip, the course was in remarkable condition. The course represents a decent challenge for most handicaps. Greens were very good, and some of the more exposed holes proved very tough with the wind. Really enjoyed it. The driving range has the TopTracer built in, which was brilliant.

Had 2 rounds, one in the evening which was nice and quiet and the other in the morning which obviously was busier but moved at a fair pace. Pretty course, nice and flat with some lovely picturesque holes involving water and wildlife! Really enjoyed our rounds - the course and greens are in good condition. Again the staff in the pro shop were lovely. Thankyou.

The pro shop experience was good . Not large but reasonably well stocked & extremely well staffed . The course was busy & yet seemed quiet & peaceful. We were able to maintain a decent pace of play . The overall condition of the course was very good with well defined areas of play . The greens were absolutely superb . They were very interesting to putt on with any number of undulations , they were true & fast . The overall experience at Draycote/Whitefields was a good one and once again YGT John did an excellent job in arranging this for me . I will be more than happy to continue my association with John & YGT when booking for next year & hopefully many years to come . Many thanks .

The main concern for our group was not to have too much up and down to negotiate. This course is not flat, but gently undulating and was excellent from that point of view. A small number of the greens are quite difficult to deal with because of the borrows, but meant they were a good test of golf. Hole 16 is a par three island green, and it should be watered to hold the ball. Over three days only a few of us managed to score, but has the potential to be a brilliant hole. Fairways well clipped, and semi rough playable. In good order for all of us. We went Monday to Thursday morning, length of game circa 4 hours.

Loved the parkland course. Challenge was more on the greens than anywhere else. Buggies expensive and pricing was 'let's just say random depending on who was in pro shop' . But overall would play here again!

There are few water hazards on this course, but I managed to visit most of them. I would have found one more if my tee shot at the Par 3 16th had not found its way on to the green via a bridge ! There were enough hills to make the course interesting without sapping our energy. The special offers linked to the course hotel make it well worth a visit.
