THB Bamboo Alcudia

Set on Mallorca's northeast coast, the 4* THB Bamboo Alcudia is an adults-only base a few minutes from Alcudia Beach, so you can do the sensible thing in the morning (18 holes) then do the holiday thing in the afternoon (sand, sea and something cold from the bar). Alcudia's old town is around a 20-minute walk too, which is ideal if you fancy swapping spikes for a wander behind the medieval walls and a proper look at a place that's been here for over 2,000 years.

For golf, the headline act is Club de Golf Alcanada, about 15 minutes away and a must-play if you like seaside views and a proper test. Want a bit of variety? Canyamel Golf and Son Servera are both within an hour, so you can mix up the week without spending half the day in a taxi.

Palma and the airport are roughly 45 minutes away, which makes it easy to add a day in the capital or squeeze in another round at Son Vida or Son Muntaner. In short, it's a simple set-up: strong golf close by, beach on the doorstep and enough off-course options to keep non-golfers happy too.

Who is this for? Golfers who want an adults-only base near Alcudia Beach, with Alcanada close enough to play without turning it into a travel day.

Who is it best for? Couples and small groups after a relaxed Mallorca week: one or two 'proper' rounds, plenty of pool and beach time, and an easy stroll into Alcudia for a change of scene.

Accommodation at THB Bamboo Alcudia

The THB Bamboo Alcudia features 208 rooms, all decorated in a contemporary, natural style that reflects the hotel's sustainability efforts, including renewable energy use, locally sourced produce and water fountains for refilling bottles throughout the property. Every room comes with a balcony or terrace, flat-screen TV, fridge, kettle and coffee machine, plus a pillow menu to help you get a proper night's sleep after a long day chasing it around Alcanada.

Room types include Double Rooms and Suites, all fitted with the same core amenities and designed with clean lines, natural tones and plenty of light. The suites offer more space and upgraded furnishings, ideal if you're staying longer or want a bit more room to spread out. All rooms open onto either a balcony or terrace, so you can sit outside with a coffee in the morning or a beer in the evening without having to go anywhere.

The hotel's two outdoor saltwater pools are surrounded by a sun terrace and serviced by a poolside bar, perfect for a post-round beer or cocktail in the sunshine. When you're not playing golf or lounging by the pool, the hotel's buffet restaurant serves breakfast and dinner with a show-cooking station that adds a bit of theatre to the evening meal. Breakfast is buffet-style with hot and cold options, which is useful if you've got an early tee time and need to fuel up properly before heading out.

During the day, an on-site snack truck serves lighter bites and snacks if you're feeling peckish between rounds or after a morning on the beach. It's handy if you don't want a full sit-down meal but need something to keep you going until dinner.

The gym is fully equipped with cardio and weight-training machines, useful for golfers who like to keep their fitness up on holiday. The hotel's location also puts you within easy walking distance of local bars, restaurants and mini supermarkets, so you're not tied to eating on site every night. Alcudia has a good range of places to eat and drink, from traditional Spanish tapas bars to seafood restaurants along the seafront, and it's easy to wander into town for a change of scene.

Beyond golf, Alcudia offers plenty to fill your time. The town's Old Town is surrounded by medieval walls and offers a fascinating glimpse into the region's history, with narrow streets, local markets and enough character to make an afternoon wander worthwhile. For the more active, cycling routes, watersports like paddleboarding and sailing, and walking trails through S'Albufera Nature Park are all easily accessible, making this a solid choice for golfers who want more than just 18 holes and a sunbed.
